The Dresser’s Lunch

Cocktail in a boot

Lively, fun, sophisticated, and a little bitter The Dresser’s Lunch is all a dresser can be.

a great cocktail, the dresser's lunch

I’ve been looking for a new cocktail, one that is refreshing but not overly sweet, one that will feel a little warm on a cold winters night but, still have a bit of some citrus. What I was finding was never quite right. So, I decided to combine several ideas I’ve been playing in my head and come up with my own. The Dresser’s Lunch has gin, grapefruit, orange and dry vermouth to bring it all together. I think it’s fantastic, if I don’t say so myself.

Being a dresser on Broadway has its challenges. I’ve been with the same show for almost 16 years and have witnessed a show go through many growing pains. Personalities and the repetitive nature of long-running shows bring out many different qualities in a dresser. The Dresser’s Lunch encompasses all of that in a drink. It’s fun and sophisticated like Gin can be. Dressers can be bitter and resentful like grapefruit. There is much fun and grand times like Grand Marnier and then there are the whiners in this case like the fortified wine of vermouth…lol. I do all this in jest with a drop of truth. The Dressers Lunch is what I would love to be drinking for a fun cocktail for lunch.
