The Holiday Fizz is a fantastic sparkly cocktail for your next holiday gathering. For this holiday season, I decided to play around with cocktails. I wanted something cranberry and refreshing but fun, and this explosion of festiveness is the result. This cocktail is loosely based on two of my favorite cocktails, The Lumière and the Cranberry Gimlet. The blending of these two with something bubbly made a surprisingly festive drink and just what I wanted.
Cocktails for the holidays should be lively with some sparkle. The addition of sparkling wine really did the trick for the Holiday Fizz. I am completely in love with this cocktail. Its red color is fantastic, and the tall ice cubes made this Holiday Fizz look exciting. Of course, you can use regular ice cubes, but I found these tall ice cube trays on Amazon that are inexpensive and work great. The color of the cranberry juice makes this dazzling drink look amazing. Using unsweetened cranberry juice gives an intense cranberry flavor without too much sweetness. If you use sweetened juice, it is so watered down you won’t get the flavor you need for this cocktail. You can find unsweetened cranberry juice in better grocery and natural stores. Even my local Walmart had it. And Spring44’s Mountain gin is perfect for this cocktail. It is juniper-forward and delicious here.
Ok, that is all for this week. I hope you are having a great holiday season this year. Making a few Holiday Fizzes will undoubtedly brighten your day! Please think of others in your choices, especially this time of year. We all need to get through these times together. Until next time!
